Antihydro® CA302 is a polymeric carbodiimide water-based anti-hydrolysis crosslinking agent, which can significantly improve the hydrolysis resistance, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance and scratch resistance of the resin when used in water-based acrylic lotion or polyurethane dispersion.

Antihydro® CA302 is a high-performance water-based anti-hydrolysis crosslinking agent of polycarbodiimide type specially developed for water-based polymer systems. Its core component is polycarbodiimide aqueous solution. Based on a water-based formula with a solid content of 40%, it appears as a colorless to slightly yellow liquid and has a viscosity of less than 300 MPa.s at 25℃. The pH value is stable within the range of 9 to 12, the equivalent of carbodiimide reaches 430, and the content of active groups is stable and controllable. As a non-toxic and zero-VOC environmentally friendly functional additive, this product can perfectly replace traditional toxic aziridine crosslinking agents. It is specially designed for water-based acrylic emulsion and polyurethane dispersion liquid systems. While achieving efficient crosslinking modification, it fully meets the strict global environmental compliance requirements and is a core functional additive for the high-end upgrade of water-based coating, adhesive and finishing agent systems.

Adopting a water-based formula, it is non-toxic and free of any VOCs. It does not have the reproductive toxicity and health risks of aziridine products. It complies with global mainstream environmental protection regulations such as RoHS and REACH, and can be adapted to all environmental protection applications except food contact grade. It helps production enterprises achieve clean production and easily pass domestic and international environmental protection compliance audits. Secondly, it features highly efficient cross-linking and hydrolysis resistance. The high-density activated carbodiimide groups in the molecular chain can react efficiently with the carboxyl groups in the resin system at room to medium temperatures, constructing a three-dimensional dense cross-linked network. This fundamentally enhances the density of the resin film after formation and significantly improves its resistance to water, acids, alkalis, solvents and other chemical media. At the same time, it blocks the hydrolysis reaction path, achieving long-lasting anti-hydrolysis protection and completely solving the industry problem of water-based systems turning white, swelling and becoming ineffective when exposed to water. Thirdly, the multi-functional performance is simultaneously enhanced. While achieving cross-linking modification, it can significantly improve the wear resistance and scratch resistance of the coating and the adhesive film, reduce the friction coefficient, and extend the service life of the products. At the same time, it can significantly enhance the adhesion of the system to various substrates such as metal, plastic film, wood, leather, and fabric, solving the problems of poor bonding and delamination of low surface energy substrates. Fourth, it has excellent system compatibility and ease of operation. The product has low viscosity and good fluidity, and can be uniformly miscible with water-based acrylic emulsion and polyurethane dispersion without precipitation or agglomeration, which does not affect the transparency, gloss and soft hand feel of the film after formation. The addition method is simple, requiring no complex pretreatment. It can be evenly dispersed by stirring at room temperature and achieve cross-linking reaction at room temperature without additional adjustment of the curing process. It is compatible with existing automated production lines and has excellent storage stability, significantly reducing production adaptation costs.

In the field of industrial coatings, it can be used in metal protective coatings, plastic film surface treatment coatings, coil coatings and other systems, enhancing the salt spray resistance, water resistance, solvent resistance and adhesion to the substrate of the coating, solving the problems of rusting of metal substrates and peeling of film coatings, and is suitable for industrial scenarios such as home appliances, automotive parts and packaging films. In the field of woodworking coatings, it is compatible with water-based wood coatings, furniture coating, floor coatings and other systems, significantly enhancing the wear resistance, scratch resistance, alcohol resistance and cleaning agent resistance of the paint film. It solves the problems of easy scratches on wood coatings and loss of gloss and damage when exposed to daily chemical products, meeting the quality requirements of high-end furniture and home decoration building materials. In the field of shoe adhesives, it is used in water-based polyurethane shoe adhesive systems, significantly enhancing the water resistance, moisture and heat resistance, and bonding strength of the adhesive film. This solves the pain points of shoe materials delamination and de-adhesion when exposed to water during wearing, and is suitable for the large-scale production and processing of various sports shoes and casual shoes.
