Bio-SAH ™ MPET3613
Bio-SAH™
Bio-SAH MPET3613 is a high-performance hydrolysis stabilizer masterbatch in the form of light yellow PET granules. It is specifically developed for polyester resin systems, where hydrolysis and thermal degradation can significantly impact material performance during processing and end-use.
PET materials are widely applied in fibers, films, packaging, and engineering plastics. However, due to the presence of ester bonds, PET is highly susceptible to hydrolysis, particularly under conditions of residual moisture, high processing temperatures, and long-term environmental exposure. This leads to chain scission, reduced molecular weight, decreased intrinsic viscosity (IV), and deterioration of mechanical properties.
Bio-SAH MPET3613 addresses these challenges by combining high-purity monomeric carbodiimide functionality with a PET-based carrier. This ensures excellent compatibility with PET resins and allows for uniform dispersion during processing.
High purity for consistent and reliable performance
PET-based granules for superior compatibility
Effective hydrolysis and acid degradation inhibition
Maintains intrinsic viscosity (IV) and molecular weight
Improves mechanical strength and durability
Granule form for easy feeding and precise dosing
Enhances processing stability and reduces degradation defects
Bio-SAH MPET3613 is widely used in:
PET injection molding applications
PET fibers and filament yarns
PET films and sheets
Packaging materials
Engineering polyester components exposed to moisture and heat
The active carbodiimide functional groups in MPET3613 react with carboxylic acid end groups generated during hydrolysis and thermal degradation. This reaction forms stable N-acylurea structures, eliminating catalytic degradation sites and preventing further chain scission. As a result, PET materials retain their molecular integrity and mechanical performance over extended periods.
Recommended dosage: typically 1% – 3% depending on application
Can be directly blended with PET resin before extrusion or injection molding
Suitable for standard PET processing conditions
Pre-drying of PET resin is recommended
Store in a dry, cool environment to prevent moisture absorption. Keep packaging tightly sealed when not in use. Follow standard industrial safety procedures.
