Diol-HCA HER is a high-performance diol chain extender developed for MDI-based polyurethane elastomer systems. It is specifically recommended for use with MDI prepolymers in the production of castable, thermoplastic, and millable polyurethane elastomers.

As a diol chain extender, Diol-HCA HER reacts with isocyanate groups (–NCO) in MDI prepolymers to form urethane linkages. Product Feature
HER is an aromatic glycol chain extender with asymmetric molecular structure.Because the hydroxyethyl group is located at the 1, 3-position (meta-position) of benzene ring, its structural regularity is not as good as that of its isomer HQEE, its melting point is lower than HQEE, and its crystallization rate is slower than HQEE and MOCA. HER melted liquid is not easy to crystallize and solidify during temperature drop. and its lifespan in reaction kettle is longer than butanediol chain extender, which improves the operability. As a diol chain extender product, it is recommended to combine with MDI prepolymer to produce cast, thermoplastic and millable PU elastomer products. The obtained PU elastomer has a lot advantages. Such as excellent plasticity, flexibility, tear strength, initial strength, hardness, cutting resistance and low shrinkage etc.
